CVG has taken recycling to new levels. Even old concrete and asphalt from the airfield is being reused. The asphalt and concrete is ground up and stored on site for use in other projects (below). Thousands of light bulbs and tons of carpet are among the many other items being recycled.



Asphalt that was part of a runway last year is being used to pave an employee parking lot this year. Runway material has also found its way into the Terminal 3 addition.




One of the more innovative ideas converts used cooking grease from CVG's 40 restaurants into bio-diesel fuel. The eco-friendly fuel helps power mowers that cut 6,000 acres of grass around the airfield. The airport sends off 7,400 gallons of grease each year to be converted to bio-diesel fuel.
