Important Badging Information
The ID Office will be closed on the following holidays:
- Monday, January 1: New Year's Day 2024
- Monday, May 27: Memorial Day
- Thursday, July 4: Independence Day
- Monday, September 2: Labor Day
- Thursday, November 28: Thanksgiving Day
- Tuesday, December 24: Christmas Eve (observed)
- Wednesday, December 25: Christmas Day (observed)
- Wednesday, January 1: New Year's Day 2025
- If a Company requires keys, a Key Request Form needs to be submitted to the KCAB Lock Shop lockshop@cvgairport.com.
- if a key is requested for a Contractor, the Sponsoring Company needs to submit a Key Request Form to the KCAB Lock Shop.
- Keys are distributed by the ID Office during business hours. The employee for whom the key is assigned to, must be the person to pick up and sign for the key.
- Unless stipulated by a Contract, there will be a $500.00 up-front deposit for a key(s).
- There is a $100.00 charge for key replacement with a $75.00 refund should the original key be found and returned.
- Replacement of lost or damaged keys or badges will be provided at the company expense. The company shall return any or all keys or access cards to KCAB when requested by KCAB.
- If the loss of keys or access cards requires changing the combination of locks or changing other access equipment, the cost of such labor and material may be charged to the company at the discretion of KCAB.
- Any fines or civil penalties assessed to KCAB caused by the company negligence is the responsibility of the company. Master Keys and/or Maintenance Master Keys must be returned in person, and not mailed.
- When keys are returned to the ID Office, the employee will need to complete paperwork to refund the deposit for the key.
6 Month Badge Renewal
Employee will need to bring their Vendor Temp badge to ID Office with a Badge Application, signed off by the Authorized Signatory for the employee's company. Temp Badges can only be renewed within 30 days of the expiration date. Once the badge has been expired 30 days, the applicant will need to start the badging process again.
2 year Badge Renewal
SIDA and Secured badges are required to be renewed every 2 years. No paperwork is required from the employee's company to renew, unless changes are being made to the current badge. Employees will come to the ID Office within 60 days of their badge expiration to renew their badge. Employee will need to bring their Acceptable ID's, have their fingerprints resubmitted (if applicable), and complete the SIDA and Ramp training (if applicable). All employees are required to have a new picture taken when renewing their badge. Once the badge is expired for 30 days, the applicant must start the badging process again.
*Airline employees are required to bring a new Compliance Form-Airline to renew their badge.
2 year Badge Renewal with CBP Seal
CBP seals are renewed when your SIDA and Secured Badge is renewed. Employee will need to bring a Completed CBP packet (CBP form 3078, Company Renewal Form, and copies of a Passport, or Passport Card, or Birth Certificate + photo ID, or Employment Eligibility for Non US Citizens.
Airline Employees will need to bring a completed CBP Packet with a sealed envelope containing their CHRC.
Badges that are expired with a CBP will have the CBP seal removed and their company will have to apply for the CBP Seal again.
Commuter Badges are issued to Airlines that are based or associated with a based airline at CVG. The Fee is $50 a year, and lets you park in the Employee Parking Lot.
The process for Commuters at CVG is a two step process.
Step One: Each employee must complete a Security Threat Assessment and a Badge Application. Applicants must present two (2) form of Acceptable Identification when applying for or renewing an Airport ID Badge. The documentation must be able to verify the applicant's identity as well as employment eligibility.
- Airline Employees must provide their Airline Crew ID as a form of ID*
The Security Threat Assessment takes 3 days to 2 weeks to be approved.
Step Two: Employees will be notified once the badge is ready to be picked up. Employee will have 30 days to pick up the badge.
After 30 days the badge will be deleted from the system and the applicant must start the process from the beginning.
Badges can only be renewed within 60 Days of the badge expiration date.
You must immediately notify the police department or ID Office when:
- An individual’s access authority has been revoked or limited
- An individual’s identification badge has been lost or stolen
- When an employee’s work authorization has expired or they no longer meet TSA badging requirements

Badges can be returned to the ID Office during business hours or mailed to the address on the back of the badge.
*A receipt will be given when dropping the badges off in person, we recommend Certified Mail when mailing badges.

Lost Badge
To Replace a Lost Badge, you must have Badge Application signed off by the Authorized Signatory for the company. We accept Cash, Check, Visa or MasterCard.
1st Lost Badge-$100 $75 refund if found
2nd Lost Badge-$200 $150 refund if found
3rd Lost Badge-$300, with the Airport Security Coordinator's approval. $225 refund if found
If badge is found, please return to the ID Office for a refund.
Stolen Badge
For a Stolen Badge, we need a Badge Application signed off by the Authorized Signatory for the Company. If you have a Police Report that lists the Badge as a stolen item, the fee will be waived.
New companies applying for badges will need to complete the Request for New Company Request Form. Once the form has been completed, it will need to be emailed to the Airport Security Coordinator (ASC) for approval. cheitzman@cvgairport.com
If the New Company is a Contractor for another company already established at the Airport, the Sponsoring Company will need to email the Airport Security Coordinator (ASC) to request badging for this company. The Sponsoring Company will also have the New Company fill out the Request for New Company Set Up form, forwarding it to the Airport Security Coordinator (ASC).
All Contracts pertaining to the New Company will need to be finalized before proceeding to the ID Office for Authorized Signatory Training.
Once the above application has been approved by the Airport Security Coordinator (ASC) and all insurance requirements and contracts have been finalized, the next step is to contact the CVG ID Department to schedule Authorized Signatory Training. (NOTE: Training is by appointment only. Walk-ins will not be processed.)
Parking badges are issued for employees working outside of the Secured Area, Airline employees that are based at CVG, Limo Drivers, and Taxi Cab Drivers. The process for employees at CVG is a two step process.

The SIDA/Secured badging process for employees at CVG is a two step process.
Step One - security threat assessment and fingerprinting
The forms in step one include:
- Security Threat Assessment
- Fingerprint Request Form
- Application for Unescorted Access
All Badge applicants must present two (2) forms of Acceptable Identification when applying for or renewing an Airport ID Badge.
The Documentation must be able to verify the applicant's identity as well as employment eligibility.
Concessionaires must also complete the CVG Concession Employee Badge Application for any employee needing a Secured Badge.
Step Two - badging and training
Each employee will require a Badge Application. When submitting the CVG Badge application, the Authorized Signer needs to verify the correct badge type is selected, and if Ramp driving is required, it must be marked on the application. Failure to mark those categories will result in employee receiving the lowest level Security Badge.
For Airline or Government employees, along with the CVG Badge Application, airlines must provide a Compliance Form-Airline to certify current and continued compliance with 49 CFR 1544.229 as it pertains to the fingerprint based CHRC. Government employees must provide a Government Fingerprint Compliance Form.
Each employee must complete SIDA training before receiving their badge.
