Allegiant Begins New Service to Austin

June 4, 2015 — Allegiant Travel Company begins service from the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) to Austin, TX (AUS). The seasonal service will operate on a Sunday, Thursday schedule through August 16th will provide the only nonstop option in the Tri-State region to this popular destination. Nonstop service between CVG and Austin has not been available since December 2010.

“As one of Allegiant’s fastest growing markets in their 15 year history, we are thrilled Allegiant is expanding their capacity to include Austin,” said Wm.T. (Bill) Robinson III, Kenton County Airport Board Chairman. “Allegiant started service from CVG in February 2014 with four weekly flights. With the new service starting today, Allegiant will offer over 30 weekly flights to 10 destinations.”

“The addition of nonstop flights to Austin will, for the first time, offer Greater Cincinnati travelers lowcost service to the heart of Texas,” said Jude Bricker, Allegiant Travel Company senior vice president of planning. “With flights to ten of the area’s favorite destinations, we are pleased to continue growing to become the region’s go-to company for vacation travel.”

“We are proud Allegiant is expanding service to include Austin,” said Candace McGraw, chief executive officer, Cincinnati / Northern Kentucky International Airport. “Austin becomes the 56th nonstop destination from CVG. This expansion would not be possible without the immense support from the Tri- State region.”
