Allegiant Expands Winter & Spring Schedule

09/15/2015

Flights to Austin & New Orleans to Operate Year-Round

Sept. 15, 2015 — Allegiant is expanding its winter and spring flight schedule from CVG, offering more flights and more destinations for low-cost travel.

Allegiant will open a new base of operations at CVG on January 6 and by February will operate 40 weekly flights to more nonstop destinations than any other low-cost carrier at the airport. This expanded schedule represents a 54% increase in flights compared the same period in 2015.

“We’re excited to offer Cincinnati and northern Kentucky travelers these enhanced travel options for winter and spring travel,” said Eric Fletcher, Allegiant Travel Company manager of airports. “With the upcoming launch of our base of operations at CVG and these schedule enhancements, we look forward to continued success and growth in the region.”

Notable service expansions include:

• The return and upgrade of nonstop flights to Austin and New Orleans to be operated year-round

• An early return of seasonal flights to Savannah / Hilton Head beginning Feb. 18

• Nonstop service to Las Vegas increasing from two to five weekly flights

“We are excited that the strong demand from our region to these markets prompted Allegiant to bring these flights back earlier in the year and now establish them as year around destinations,” said Candace McGraw, Cincinnati / Northern Kentucky International Airport CEO.

The flights will be operated with a mix of Boeing 757, MD-80 and Airbus A320 family aircraft. When it opens in January, Allegiant’s CVG base will employ up to 90 pilots, flight attendants and airport service personnel.

“Allegiant’s continued growth is being made possible by the strong support it is receiving from the Tri-State region,” said William T. (Bill) Robinson III, Kenton County Airport Board chairman. “The addition of these flights in February will grow Allegiant’s schedule by 40 to 50% year-over-year, giving passengers more options for their spring vacations.”

Allegiant launched flights from CVG in February 2014 with just four weekly flights to two destinations. Since then, Cincinnati has become one of Allegiant’s fastest growing markets and its largest non-vacation destination. Allegiant operates nonstop flights to 11 seasonal and year-round destinations from Cincinnati, more than any other low-cost carrier.
