Business Courier: Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport gets another new nonstop flight

Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport is getting a new nonstop flight to a key destination in the northeast United States.

American Airlines will start flying three times a day to Boston on Nov. 2.

CVG has one direct flight to Boston now, from Delta, so American's decision will add competition on the route.

“We are excited to strengthen our network at CVG with new nonstop service to Boston just in time for the winter holiday season,” said Brian Znotins, American Airlines' vice president of network planning. “While these routes will complement existing service from CVG to some of our largest hubs, we look forward to welcoming more local travelers to fly with us and further connecting them with our global network.”

It's American's 10th destination from CVG. American also flies to Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Miami, New York (JFK and LaGuardia), Philadelphia, Phoenix and Washington D.C. (Reagan National).

Boston is a key market for CVG because of business travel there and is in the top 10 markets people fly to from Cincinnati.

"This new service is very exciting for our community in terms of both leisure and business travel," said CVG CEO Candace McGraw.

American's flights to Boston will depart from CVG at 7:30 a.m., 10:10 a.m. and 4 p.m., with flights arriving at Boston-Logan International Airport at 9:45 a.m., 12:25 p.m. and 6:15 p.m.
