CVG and Christian Moerlein Brewing Company release collaborative, travel-inspired brew

12/13/2018

December 13, 2018 ― The Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) and Christian Moerlein Brewing Company are releasing a collaborative travel-inspired brew called JET CVG, on Saturday, December 15, 2018.

The JET CVG keg tapping will take place at the Christian Moerlein Beer Hall Singalong. Media are invited to attend, and of course taste.

When: December 15, 2018; Keg tapping at 8 PM with Beer Hall Singalong to follow until 11 PM

Where: Christian Moerlein Taproom, 1621 Moore St. Cin, OH 45202

JET CVG is a German-style Schwarzbier, “jet black” in color with a light mouth feel and clean lager taste. It pays tribute to Cincinnati’s German brewing legacy featuring Old World Pilsner, Munich, Caramunich II, Carafa III, and Chocolate malts as well as German Hersbrucker hops. Aroma and flavor are a combination of roasted malts, slight coffee, and hints of tobacco. The brew was made to marry the love of beer and travel, and inspire locals to jet off to their next adventure.

The brew will be served on tap at three locations:

  • Christian Moerlein Malt House Taproom in Over-the-Rhine
  • Christian Moerlein Lager House at The Banks
  • Christian Moerlein Malt House Taproom at CVG Airport; set to open early 2019

“We’re excited to be one of the first airports to collaborate with a local brewery to produce a travel-inspired beer,” said Candace McGraw, CEO, CVG. “With the upcoming Christian Moerlein Malt House Taproom opening at CVG, we wanted to pay homage to our community in a way both locals and visitors would enjoy.”

“The collaboration between Christian Moerlein and the CVG teams in developing JET CVG Schwarzbier was something unique you don’t get a chance to do every day,” said Greg Hardman, President and CEO of Christian Moerlein Brewing Co. “We wanted to have a beer that inspired travel and celebrated our German-American brewing roots; I believe we accomplished this with JET CVG.”
