CVG and Local Boy Scouts Celebrate Memorial Day

05/25/2017

May 25, 2017 — Local Scouts will help celebrate Memorial Day by placing more than 400 flags at the entrance of the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG). The flags will be installed on Saturday, May 27, 10:30 – 11:00 a.m.

“We look forward to this display every year as it is a way to honor the brave men and women who lost their lives serving our country,” said Candace McGraw, chief executive officer, CVG. “We thank Boy Scout Troop #1, the Sons of the American Legion and all the volunteers who participate.”

CVG honors troops year round in the USO Military Lounges located in Concourses A and B. More than 15,000 military personnel, veterans and families visit the lounges each year. The lounges provide a quiet place to relax before flights, with complimentary snacks and travel items donated by the community. In addition, CVG’s concessionaires provide a discount to traveling military personnel.

“We also want to thank those who keep these USO lounges running year round; Delta Air Lines, Paradies Shops and The Kroger Co. for their donations, as well as the USO volunteers who work in the lounges,” continued McGraw.
