CVG Celebrates Cincinnati Artist Charley Harper

11/20/2014

Nov. 20, 2014 — CVG has installed 36 images from world–renowned Cincinnati artist Charley Harper. In partnership with his son, Brett Harper, iconic images were chosen to represent Charley’s unique way of looking at nature, objects and situations. The images can be found in the Concourse B food court and lounge areas.

“We are very proud to have Charley’s work on display at CVG. Charley Harper's unique minimalist approach is unmistakable, people know his work the minute they see it,” said Candace McGraw, chief executive officer, Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.

“This is part of CVG's on-going effort to showcase our regional community,” said Wm. T. (Bill) Robinson III, Kenton County Airport Board Chairman. “As the first stop for visitors in this region, CVG is showing our arriving passengers local talent at its best.”

This collection at CVG features Charley Harper’s mid-century images of birds and travel through America from the 1950s and 1960s, along with U.S. National Park Service posters from the 1970s and 1980s. All of the images were printed on acrylic panels.

“My dad’s work makes people smile. They are fun for all ages,” said Brett Harper, son of Charley Harper.
