CVG Earns Highest Safety Rating from FAA

08/26/2014

Aug. 26, 2014 — CVG recently passed its annual FAA Part 139 Airport Certification inspection with no discrepancies, the highest rating a commercial airport can receive. The Part 139 inspection is an annual review required for an airport to renew its operating certificate.

“Safety and security are the top priorities of the operations at CVG both for our passengers and tenants,” said Candace McGraw, chief executive officer, Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. “I’m proud of our team every day, the results of the inspection showcase their hard work and dedication.”

FAA inspectors were on the ground at CVG August 20-22. The inspection included a review of the airport’s certification manual and emergency plan, detailed visual inspections of the airfield, markings and lighting and a test of the airport’s emergency response procedures.
