August 24, 2018 ― U.S. Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao announced today that the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) will receive $7.1M in Airport Improvement Program grants. The program funds airport infrastructure projects such as runways, taxiways, airport signage, airport lighting and airport markings. The breakdown of grant projects awarded to CVG are as follows:
- $3.6M grant for the construction and connection of an additional deice pad
- $2.5M grant for phase two of the Concourse A ramp rehabilitation project
- $987,215 grant for a new baggage carousel in Concourse A
“This grant funding is critical to CVG, and we thank Secretary Chao for recognizing that infrastructure investment enables continued growth at the airport,” said Candace McGraw, chief executive officer, CVG. “These funds will ensure continued safe operations and elevate the passenger experience.”
