CVG to Conduct Emergency Drill

Sept. 4, 2014 — On Friday, Sept. 5, CVG will be conducting a mandatory FAA Emergency Drill. The purpose of the drill is to simulate a disaster on airport property and to test our airport emergency plan. Coordination and mutual aid is a major part of the drill, which will include more than 100 volunteers, 70 ambulances and 12 fire engines. Safety and security are top priorities of CVG. As a reminder, this is only a drill. Do not be alarmed by the presence of smoke and emergency vehicles on Friday morning. 

What: Emergency Drill

When: Friday, Sept. 5

Where: Field Maintenance Building and Airfield

Time: 9 – 11 a.m.

Media can be on site starting at 4:30 am. Media can stay at Field Maintenance from 4:30 – 11:30 a.m. If media is interested in viewing the incident site, they will be need to be at Field Maintenance by 8 a.m. They will be driven to the incident site and will not be able to leave the incident site until 11 a.m. The incident site is off of a runway and not accessible without CVG transportation. 

Media trucks should can park at Timco, 169 Field Maintenance Dr., Erlanger, KY 41018.
