If you have a child who loves airplanes and dreams of getting a job in the aviation industry one day, there's a summer camp at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport this summer that you might want to check out.

The camp will be conducted by the Aviation Museum of Kentucky and will be held on July 7 and July 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day. It is for students ages 10 through 17.

The camp will be held at the CVG Centre located at 77 Comair Blvd. in Erlanger, Kentucky.

There will be plenty of activities so that students can learn more about the aviation industry, which includes helping to fly an actual airplane. With a Federal Aviation Administration-certified pilot, students will participate in planning and conducting a flight in the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area.

Students will also learn about aircraft instruments, aircraft design, use of the aeronautical map for navigation, flight planning, history, weather, glider competition, NASA space, air traffic control (ATC) at the camp. Guides will help student practice takeoff, landing, navigation, and reading aircraft instruments through use of computer flight simulation.

Lunch, snacks and a camp T-shirt will be provided for all students.

It costs $279 per student to attend. Financial aid is available.
