03/11/2015

March 11, 2015 — CVG has once again achieved a distinctive global honor, receiving the Skytrax World Airport Award for the Best Regional Airport in North America for the fifth consecutive year.

“We, at CVG, are very pleased to have now received the Skytrax World Airport Award for the fifth year in a row,” said Wm.T. (Bill) Robinson III, Kenton County Airport Board Chairman. “The World Airport Awards are a global recognition for CVG. This award recognizes the hard working professionals who serve our passengers daily with high quality customer service and a positive traveling experience.”

Edward Plaisted of Skytrax commented, “The World Airport Awards have become the most quality accolades for the world airport industry, and are regarded as the global benchmark of airport excellence.”

Skytrax, an independent, London-based air transport research organization, surveyed airline customers from different countries during the survey period in 2014 and 2015 (completed in February 2015). The survey covered airports worldwide and evaluates traveler experiences across 39 different airport service and product, key performance indicators - from check-in, arrivals, transfers, shopping, security and immigration through departure at the gate. The results are based on unsolicited, customer-survey responses, with no subscription or membership required for an airport to be included.

“Receiving this prestigious award five years in a row exemplifies a proven track record of excellence,” said Candace McGraw, chief executive officer, Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. “This would not be possible without tremendous support from the entire CVG team, including our airline and business partners. We have an extremely talented, hard-working and dedicated work force at CVG which makes this award possible.  I am proud of our CVG community who always goes above and beyond to take the best care our passengers.”

CVG is the leading airport in a three-state region that includes Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana.  Airlines at CVG currently offer approximately 165 daily departures to 57 nonstop locations including 38 of the top 40 U.S. markets.  Half of the U.S. population is within an hour's flight of CVG.
