ERLANGER, Ky. — The Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) is partnering with leading vertical farming company 80 Acres Farms and North American travel retailer and restaurateur ParadiesLagardère to bring fresh food options to travelers year-round.
80 Acres Farms salad kits are now available from all Paradies Lagardère travel essentials stores at CVG, including Queen City Expo., Over the Rhine Market, Today, Gaslight Market, Tripadvisor®, CNBC, Bluegrass Bazaar, and Seven Hills Essential. The company’s greens and herbs are also now on the menu at Vino Volo, for travelers looking for a sit-down dining experience.
Based in Hamilton, Ohio, 80 Acres Farms grows pesticide-free greens, microgreens, herbs, and tomatoes in indoor farms, including a new 200,000-square-foot facility in Boone County, Kentucky, just fifteen minutes from CVG. The company’s farms use up to 95% less water per pound of produce than conventional farms, growing up to 300 times as much food per square foot.
