Latest Ride-Sharing Company to Secure Operating Agreement
Sept. 3, 2015 — CVG today announced Uber Technologies, Inc., a Transportation Networking Company, finalized an agreement authorizing Uber to operate at the airport under their new ridesharing policy. Uber could begin pick-ups as early as 8 a.m. today.
CVG joins a growing number of airports across the country to recognize formally the benefits of offering travelers a new way to grab a ride through their smartphone. With millions of travelers passing through CVG each year, additional transportation options can help to improve the passenger experience. CVG is the first airport in Ohio and Kentucky to have an official operating agreement with Uber.
“Our customers desire options,” said Candace McGraw, chief executive officer, Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. “Uber joins other ground transportation options including rental cars, taxi cabs, On-Demand Van/Shuttle and TANK.” For additional information on ground transportation options, please visit cvgairport.com/trans.
“This agreement perfectly highlights both Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport’s embrace of innovation and Uber’s commitment to meeting consumer needs,” said Casey Verkamp, Uber General Manager. “We’re excited to formalize an agreement with CVG, giving the tens of thousands of Uber users in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, along with visitors to the area, access to the convenience of Uber upon arrival.”
