Walking Paths for Better Health Unveiled

12/02/2014

Sponsored by the American Heart Association and Medpace

Dec. 2, 2014 — CVG Fit to Fly Walking Paths for Better Health will be unveiled at CVG today. These walking routes are possible due to a partnership with the American Heart Association and Medpace. Walking routes are marked in the baggage claim, Concourse A, Concourse B and the tunnel connecting passengers from security to the concourses. CVG installed new water bottle filling stations along the walking routes.

“Customer service is a top priority at CVG,” said Candace McGraw, chief executive officer, Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. “Both our employees and passengers are concerned about wellness. The newly marked walking routes allow our customers the opportunity to burn calories while waiting for their flight or taking a break from work.”

Wm. T. (Bill) Robinson, III, Kenton County Airport Board Chairman, added, “At CVG, we believe collaboration is key. The Fit to Fly Walking Paths would not be possible without the hard work and dedication from the American Heart Association, Medpace, GPI Wellness, Kenton County Airport Board and staff.”

Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of Americans. Stroke ranks fourth and is a leading cause of severe adult disability. Some form of cardiovascular disease affects more than one in every three adult Americans. Many suffer terribly from disabilities caused by these diseases.

“Our mission is to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular disease and stroke,” said Patrick Niemeyer, American Heart Association. “Even little things like walking, can make a difference. We strive to improve the lives of all Americans by providing public health education in a variety of ways.”

“Medpace is pleased to partner with the American Heart Association,” said Penelope Bucknell, Medpace. “We are honored to participate in the CVG Fit to Fly Walking Paths for Better Health project.
