CVG launches video-assisted service
Erlanger, Ky. (March 22, 2019) – The Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) is rolling out an app-based, video-assisted service to enable blind and low-vision travelers to self-navigate the airport.CVG’s partnership with tech firm, [Aira](https://aira.io/how-it-works), connects blind and low-vision travelers with highly trained, remotely-located agents. Through the smartphone app, or a pair of Horizon Smart Glasses, travelers get instant access to visual information at the touch of a button – enhancing navigation, efficiency and independence.HOW IT WORKS: Travelers can access the Aira service for free, as soon as they enter the airport. Aira is available on any iPhone or Android smartphone, and can also be accessed by an individual’s Aira Horizon smart glasses, which come equipped with an embedded camera. CVG continues construction to build for future/ Strong financial ratings support improvements
Erlanger, Ky. (March 1, 2019) – The Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) will finalize roadway improvements throughout 2019, as well as begin construction on the new [rental car facility](https://www.cvgairport.com/about/next/Build/) and customer service building that will improve access to the Terminal and elevate the passenger experience.CVG has received bond ratings that will positively impact the financing for the final phases of the project. Two bond agencies issued favorable ratings for the 2019 CFC bonds to be issued to fund portions of the new rental car facility and customer service building, as well as the 2019 revenue bonds to fund roadway improvements.Moody’s Investors Services upgraded CVG’s 2016 revenue bonds to A1 from A2, and assigned a rating of A1 to the 2019 revenue bonds, which are planned to be issued in early March. CVG and Christian Moerlein open Malt House Taproom at airport

CVG has Lowest Airfares in the Region
Erlanger, Ky. (February 21, 2019) – The U.S. Department of Transportation released its average airfare ranking report for third quarter 2018, and the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) once again has the lowest airfares in the region. Among the top 100 U.S. domestic airports, CVG ranked #83. CVG experiences record-breaking year: 2018 highlights
January 23, 2019 – In 2018, the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) continued to be one of the fastest-growing airports in the U.S. The airport served 8.9 million passengers, its largest volume since 2010, representing more than 1.1 million more passengers compared to 2017. CVG’s local passenger volumes set new records eight months in a row, growing 13.9 percent over 2017.For the first time in its history, CVG experienced annual cargo tonnage of more than 1.2 million tons (2.4 billion pounds), an increase of 19.6 percent over 2017.Airfares at CVG were at an all-time low throughout 2018. Passengers are paying on average $240 less per ticket than four years ago.And, the airport continues a major capital improvement program, investing $345 million over the next few years to make travel through CVG an unforgettably positive experience. Frontier launched new service to San Jose, Austin, Jacksonville, San Antonio, and Raleigh/Durham.Frontier also celebrated its 5 year anniversary of service at CVG and now serves 19 destinations from CVG. Southwest Airlines introduced new service to Denver and began seasonal service to Phoenix.Weekly service to Orlando will begin in March 2019. United Airlines expanded its CVG service with larger aircraft resulting in passenger growth of 17 percent. WOW Air began service to Iceland and Europe, and while the service didn’t last, the response from the community demonstrated this market will respond well to more international service offerings.
