New Flights to Cozumel and Grand Bahama

CVG Receives Award for Therapy Horses
Dec. 4, 2017 — CVG’s miniature therapy horse program won another industry award, this time from Airport Council International – North America (ACI) for best customer service program.CVG’s partnership with Seven Oaks Farm began in 2016 and brings miniature therapy horses to the airport’s Terminal twice a month. The program is the only of its kind and is a unique nod to Kentucky’s legendary equestrian history. The purpose is to ease passengers’ anxiety and deliver on CVG’s mission to provide passengers an unforgettably positive experience.Customer reaction to CVG’s equine friends has been phenomenal. From selfies to viral videos, the horses wearing CVG vests or decorative holiday garments are all the rage. CVG the Lowest-Fare Airport In Region
Oct. 18, 2017 — CVG is now the lowest-fare airport in the region, based on the average airfare ranking for the 2nd quarter of 2017 released by the US Dept. of Transportation this week.CVG ranked #69 among the top 100 domestic airports, the best ranking since the report was first published in 1995.Overall, airfares at CVG have dropped 16 of the last 17 quarters dating back to 2Q of 2013. In those four years, fares have dropped approximately 37 percent, and passengers are paying $200 less per ticket.“CVG is proud to now be the lowest fare airport in the Tri-State region,” said Candace McGraw, chief executive officer, CVG. “Passengers are paying on average $200 less per ticket than they were four years ago. Our community has responded very positively, proven by our passenger volumes growing more than 70 percent over the last four years.”Below is a summary of the report as it relates to CVG: CVG average fare ranked #69 compared to #40 in 2Q 2016, an improvement of 29 positions CVG average fare of $342 decreased 13% compared to $385 in 2Q 2016. CVG Celebrates Passenger and Cargo Records
Sept. 25, 2017 — CVG is one of the fastest growing airports in the country, as it continues to set local passenger traffic records, and celebrates three years of consecutive year-over-year growth.In August, local passenger traffic was up 30 percent with more than 362,500 originating passengers, marking the third highest local passenger August volume in CVG’s 70-year history. All scheduled carriers at CVG experienced double digit year-over-year growth. Over the last three years, originating passenger volume has grown 58 percent while airfares have decreased more than 30 percent.CVG also set an all-time record in terms of most cargo tonnage handled in one month, with 92,988 tons in August, an increase of 39 percent year-over-year.Overall, landed weight from aircraft operations in August was up 31percent year-over-year with more than 967 million pounds, the most since August of 2006.“At CVG, we’re embracing what’s next and planning for a bright future, as we work to continue breaking records by growing both passenger and cargo operations, and lowering airfares,” said Candace McGraw, chief executive officer, CVG. “The new activity and additional landed weight will enable CVG to continue lowering its landing fees, benefiting all carriers while ensuring we remain a great place to do business. The ground transportation center will also be renovated, and new carpet will be installed in the walking tunnel connecting the Terminal and Concourses. All of which is targeted for Fall/Winter 2017-2018.In upcoming phases of the project, the CVG curb front will get brighter lighting and simplified signage for better wayfinding. Wow Air: New International Carrier
August 23, 2017 — WOW air, Iceland’s low-cost transatlantic airline, is announcing new international flight services from Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) to Europe via Keflavik International Airport (KEF) in Iceland.Service from Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky will be available four days a week. Flights to Keflavik International Airport are available from $99\ one-way including taxes. Frontier Announces 6 New Destinations
July 18, 2017 — Frontier Airlines is growing its CVG service again with the addition of six nonstop destinations, including Seattle, Miami, San Antonio, Austin, Jacksonville and Raleigh/Durham.All six destinations will be served by Frontier’s A320 family of aircraft. Flights to Miami will begin October 5th, 2017 and operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Flights start at $34 each way for Discount Den members and $49 for non-members.Flights to Seattle, San Antonio, Austin, Jacksonville and Raleigh/Durham will start in the spring 2018 with ticket sales beginning in late August.“With today’s announcement, Frontier now offers our Low Fares Done Right to even more destinations from Cincinnati,” said Mark Mitchell, chief accounting officer. “Customers traveling from Cincinnati now have more low-cost options in these markets, and with The WORKS and The PERKS bundles, we offer the best value in U.S. air travel.”Frontier began service from CVG in May of 2013 with one daily flight to Denver.
